Trenton gunshot victim dies months later
A 2017 city gunshot victim died earlier this week, and his death could potentially be ruled a homicide.
Michael Anderson, 52, died on Monday, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Sources say he was shot on a Wayne Avenue porch near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard during the morning hours of June 7, 2017.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday and the cause and manner of death are pending the results of that autopsy, a prosecutor’s office spokeswoman told The Trentonian on Wednesday via email. She said the death will be classified as a 2017 homicide if the medical examiner’s office rules the death a homicide.
Anderson, a beloved Trenton resident, was being remembered on Facebook as “a legend” and as “the black superman.”
