Mark Keiffer outlined the confusing situation the day after shooting broke out on North Overbrook Avenue.

Keiffer said officers hit the scene shortly after the 9 p.m. shooting and found 38-year-old Troy Bradley near death in the middle of the street with a bullet wound to the stomach.

Officers found Pavevo Davis, 37, dead with a bullet wound to his chest after going into 24 N. Overbrook Ave., the home of a laid-off computer repairman whose landlord called him meek and mild-mannered.

The landlord, who would not give his name or the tenant’s, said he learned the renter was the victim of a home invasion.

He added that he couldn’t imagine the renter disarming the invaders, let alone shooting them.

Keiffer said officers recovered one handgun at the scene. Officers were searching under cars and in the leaves and brush across the street for another possible gun on Thursday afternoon.

Bradley, who had a criminal record for drug and weapons offenses, was pronounced dead soon after his arrival at Capital Health’s Fuld hospital in Trenton. Bradley, also known as “Glow,” was in prison from 2000 to 2008. The Trentonian learned Bradley was acting as a surrogate father to Quadir Keys, a 19-year-old who was shot dead Sept. 14.

The body of Davis, who apparently died almost instantly, was still in the house more than 15 hours after the shooting. Davis served two years in prison for selling fake heroin.

Officers and an assistant Mercer County prosecutor at the scene would not comment on the shootings.
The landlord said the officers told him the renter was at police headquarters but had not been charged with any offense. He said the renter has lived alone there for five years and has few valuable belongings.

Troy Bradley’s mother, who lives nearby, showed up at the crime scene but would not comment.
Trentonian StaffThu, 22 Dec 2011 17:01:57 -0500http://trenton.homicidewatch.org/2011/12/22/trenton-cops-investigating-double-homicide-in-west-ward/Troy BradleyPavevo Davis
