The body of 66-year-old James Harris was found by a passerby near the corner of East State and Stockton streets in downtown Trenton, just across the street from City Hall, early in the morning on Sept. 11. Police said he was killed by a gunshot to the chest.

Neemias Reyes-Gonzales, 37, was shot to death in what’s been described as a home invasion on South Clinton Avenue on Sept. 4. Police have described the home as a “house of ill-repute” and Reyes-Gonzales had been arrested about a month earlier on that block, where he was charged with promoting prostitution.

Semaj Kelly was gunned down on West Ingham Avenue on July 29. The 25-year-old was pronounced dead in the early morning hours at Trenton’s Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

On July 11, a 5-year-old Trenton girl was brought to Capital Health Medical Center by her parents, who said she was suffering from asthma-related problems. The girl later died at the hospital, and on July 12, her parents, Masceo Emanuel and Dominique Smith, were charged with child endangerment. Prosecutors added murder charges against the couple on Sept. 6.

TRENTON — A judge set bail at $500,000 on Monday for Kevin Boone, 20, who is charged with shooting his friend to death on July 19 in an argument about a dice game.
Boone, of the Kingsbury Square apartments, was arrested on homicide and weapons charges hours after David Lewis III, 23, was shot to death on East Paul Avenue, Lewis’ body was found by police in the back of an alley, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 20-year-old city resident has been arrested in the July 19 shooting death of David Lewis III, police said Thursday.
Kevin Boone, of the Kingsbury Square apartments, was arrested on homicide and weapons charges on Wednesday at 1:01 a.m., police said.
Lewis, 23, was shot to deathin the second block of East Paul Avenue, just after 7:30 p.m. His body was found by police in the back of an alley, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was the eighth homicide victim in Trenton this year.
